ROHS Soccer Booster Club holds Dodgeball Tournament
RED OAK - Ok, it wasn’t the Average Joe’s Vs the Cobras as portrayed in the movie Dodgeball, but it was nine teams with names like Orange Chicken, Fried Rice, Not in the Face and Wobbles.
The nine teams competed in the 1st annual Red Oak High School Soccer Booster Club Dodgeball Tournament held at the Red Oak Junior High gym on Saturday, Dec. 10.
The Booster Club used the event as a fundraiser for the upcoming 2012 season.
The tournament followed standard rules and ball sizes with matches lasting a maximum of 10 minutes, although most were over in less than 5.
The Booster Club and their volunteers did a great job organizing nine teams and playing matches every 15 minutes.
Everything ran very smooth and it was a great turn out for a first time event.
Most of the teams were made up of current ROHS students and Alumi, but even a few parents joined in as well.
The tournament quickly came down to three teams; BYE, Orange Chicken and Orange Chicken Killers.
In the semi-final game between BYE and Orange Chicken, the Orange Chicken team were down to one player on the court twice, but came back to defeat BYE.
In the Championship game between Orange Chicken and Orange Chicken Killers, it was the Orange Chicken team that took care of the Orange Chicken Killers in short order to claim the 1st annual championship and their golden Dodgeball and medals.
