Lady Indians go 5 games against Richard Pearce Lady Mustangs
WAXAHACHIE - The Waxahachie Lady Indians were in action Friday, Nov. 11 in the Class 4A Volleyball Regional Semi-finals.
They played prior to Red Oak, and took on the highly ranked Richard Pearce Lady Mustangs.
These two teams have faced each other in this round of the playoffs the past two years, with the Lady Mustangs winning both times.
It looked as if finally, the Lady Indians had the Mustangs number.
After winning game one 25-20 and two 25-22, the Lady Indians found themselves on the verge of sweeping the higher ranked Mustangs, but the Mustangs had different ideas.
The Lady Mustangs finally showed why they are one of the top five 4A teams in the state.
The Mustangs took game three, but it was a battle the entire game, but they still had to win two more while the Lady Indians needed just one more.
Game three was a disaster for the Lady Indians.
The Mustangs seemed to know where to place the ball on every shot, and ran away with game four and tying it up 2-2.
Game five started out like game four and the Lady Indians found themselves behind early to a very confident and good Lady Mustangs team as they went on to win and eliminating the Lady Indians from the playoffs.
