LANCASTER - Lancaster’s Nick Alexander’s 54-yard second-quarter kickoff return broke a 7-7 tie as Lancaster (8-2, 6-2) beat Red Oak 40-16 Friday, Nov. 4.
Red Oak and Lancaster swapped special teams touchdowns as James Proche scored on a 33-yard punt return to tie the game.
On the ensuing play, Anderson took the onside kick attempt to the end zone. Lancaster was led by quarterback Davon Hodge, who went 9-16 for 251 yards and three touchdowns, two of which went to Jaquan White in the second quarter.
Devonte Gill ran for 126 yards and two second-half touchdowns.
Cameron Bausley led Red Oak (4-6, 3-5) with 219 total yards and a rushing touchdown. Red Oak drove the ball to within Lancaster’s 25-yard-line three times in the first half, which resulted in a fumble, a botched fake field goal and a turnover on downs.
