Lady Hawks sweep Lancaster
RED OAK - The Lady Hawks varsity volleyball squad opened up home district play against Lancaster on Friday, Sept. 2.
The Lady Tigers would get the first point of match one, but it was short lived as the Lady Hawks simply routed the Lady Tigers sweeping them in three straight matches 25-10, 25-9 and 25-9.
The Lady Hawks pretty much played set and smash against the Lady Tigers.
Emmalee Smith (#2) spent most of the first two matches setting up 6’-1” Caleah Wells (#7) who bombarded the Lady Tigers with spike after spike.
Their timing was nearly perfect on every set.
When Wells was on the bench the 5’-10” Kennedi Coleman (#15) picked up where she left off.
When Smith was on the bench Elyse Berlin (#11) took over the role of setting up shots without missing a beat.
In match three and a big lead, Head Coach Hope Porter was able to get freshman and sophomore players a lot of playing time and they too kept the pressure up.
After sweeping West Mesquite and now Lancaster, the Lady Hawks are now 2-0 in district play.
