RED OAK - The Hawks varsity baseball team was in Ennis last week for the Ennis Booster Club tournament and trying to repeat as tournament champions. In their last game on Saturday, Match 12, the Hawks faced the Seagoville Dragons, who they beat last year to advance to the championship game.

Coach Autrey used an unlikely trio of pitchers in swimmer Hunter Gnoza, knuckle baller Wade Regas, and submariner style pitcher Beau Kirby, to shut down the Dragons.

The three pitchers did not allow a run thanks to some great defense.

The Hawks offense put on a show for everyone there scoring 12 runs in the first inning and it could have been a lot more if not for sportsmanship shown by the Hawks coaches holding runners on base that could have easily scored. The Hawks brought home their 2nd Allen Samuels Autoplex championship plaque in two years.
