RED OAK - It was a busy last week around Red Oak’s High School and Youth Baseball and Softball fields.
The Lady Hawks hosted always tough district rival Waxahachie on Tuesday, March 8.
In what started as a pitching duel, quickly turned into a offensive game by the Lady Indians.
The Lady Indians put up four runs in the second.
The Lady Hawks had plenty of opportunities to make a game out of it, but running and fielding errors cost them dearly and the Lady Indians won 7-2.
The Lady Hawks did finally get their first district win on the road against Terrell in a 3-1 win thanks to doubles by Kayla Burke and Jaimi Munoz.
The Lady Hawks find themselves towards the bottom of the district, but there are plenty of district games remaining and opportunities to jump up near the top. The JV Lady Hawks didn’t fare as well either against Waxahachie.
Their game was close until the fourth inning when the JV Lady Indians put five more runs across for 7-0 lead.
The JV Lady Hawks did make it interesting scoring three and leaving runners on base as time expired in the fifth inning.
