RED OAK - The 2010-2011 Red Oak High School cheerleading banquet was held at the Red Oak High School on Saturday, Feb. 19.

The theme this year was "A night of Lights" and as beautiful as the cheerleaders looked along with their escorts, it could have passed for a Hollywood premiere. Formal photos were taken first then dinner started at 7 p.m.

After dinner, sponsors Mrs. Kelley, Mrs. Fagan and Mrs. Stockdale handed out individual and team awards and gifts to the cheerleaders. The 2010-2011 Cheerleader of the Year went to Madison Latimer. During one of the more emotional times during the banquet, the six senior cheerleaders presented their Wills to the under classman.

As Mrs. Kelley started, the six senior cheerleaders have all cheered together since Kindergarten and the group came in as freshman when she took over as the cheerleading sponsor and has gotten very close with this group. Also during the banquet, Scholarship Awards were given to each of the 6 senior cheerleaders. A special senior video presentation was shown near the end of the banquet including A-Team members. The final awards were given to the A-Team members by Mrs. Stockdale.

The banquet ended on the dance floor when the music was turned up and the heels came off. A very special thanks goes out to the ROHS Cheerleading Booster Club for all the funds they raised for scholarships and the banquet and also to the banquet committee members and volunteers that helped setup the banquet!
