RED OAK - The Lady Hawks began their 2010-2011 season at home in a non-district game against Lake Dallas.

Although the Lady Hawks have lost a little height, they more than made up for it in hustle and determination and Lady Falcons of Lake Dallas found that out quick.

The first quarter of the game stayed pretty close, with the Lady Hawks applying full court pressure and Lake Dallas falling back into a zone defense when they could.

Early points from the Lady Hawks came from turnovers due to the full court pressure, but the Lady Falcons stayed close.

In the second quarter, the Lady Hawks began to separate with three pointers and long range two pointers, but they never let up on the pressure and continued their fast break assault.

By halftime the Lady Hawks were in full control of the game and its pace with a 31-19 lead.

The second half saw the Lady Hawks extend their lead and the Lady Falcons had no answers for the pressure, long range shots and the Lady Hawks inside game.

The Lady Hawks cruised onto victory with a 72-38 statement win.

The JV squad also won their game, but it was much closer.

The JV Lady Hawks watched a small lead disappear with just a few minutes left in the game, but their defense was able to stop the rally and come up with some big turnovers and preserve the 23-20 win.
