2010 Jackets playoff season over

The Jackets 2010 football season ended in the playoffs earlier than we wanted Friday night.

The Canton Eagles were clearly the better team and will be hard to beat by any team as they continue in the playoffs.

It has been a pleasure watching this Jackets team play this year.

I didn’t know a single player on this team when I started covering them for The Ellis County Press.

However, by the end of the season I felt as though I knew some of them.

I’ve written several times what a great group of young men these players are and I couldn’t be more proud of them.

The 2010 Varsity Senior Class led this team by example with a never give up attitude the entire season.

I would like say a big THANKS to each of the Jackets players especially the seniors for your respect and courtesy extended to me during this year.

This has been a learning experience for me and I could not have been around a better group during my rookie year and possibly my last year.

I want to say a big THANKS to Coach Barnes, Coach Hankins and Coach Grady along with the rest of the coaching staff for your tremendous support and cooperation this year.

I hope each Senior player will have good memories of their 2010 District 13-AAA Co-Championship season and I feel they have learned some solid life lessons from their high school football days.

I truly wish each one of these fine young men every success in whatever they choose to do in the future.
