Jackets playoff run stopped cold, 35-0
FERRIS - The Ferris Yellow Jackets playoff season ended in Cedar Hill Friday night against a very good Canton Eagles football team. The Eagles defense was stronger than the cold north wind at the Longhorns Stadium.
Other than their first offensive series, the Jackets just couldn’t get any consistent offense going against the tough Canton defense.
Led on offense by quarterback Chance Wallace, wide receivers Roy Denbow and Trent Termin, the Eagles rolled up 35 points while the Eagles defense shut out the Ferris offense.
The Canton passing game was easily the best the Jackets faced all season.
Total offense for Canton was 321 yards while the Jackets had 185 total yards.
Canton clearly had the better team and will be hard to beat by whoever plays them in this playoff season.
Interesting stat for how our District 13-AAA fared against District 14-AAA Friday night: Van 42 vs Crandall 21, Canton 35 vs Ferris 0, Lindale 49 vs N. Forney 2. Yep, District 14-AAA swept our district 3-0 in the first playoff round.
Just wanted to say a big THANKS for the Ferris fans who braved the chilly weather conditions and stayed until the bitter end on Friday night.
The Jackets appreciated your support the entire season.
