Opinion: Jackets fans convoy to Crandall?
Okay Jackets fans, the last game of the regular 13 AAA District play has come down to a showdown in Crandall this Friday, Nov. 5. It is a short trip down Malloy Bridge Road to Hwy 175. Turn right and just a few miles down the highway is Crandall, home of the Cotton Gin restaurant.
Let’s make this trip look like a Ferris Fightin’ Jackets Fans convoy to Crandall!
Our Jackets team is on a mission to make this 2010 season truly a "Special Season."
In case you don’t know, our Jackets have already clinched at least a tie or a co-championship for District 13 AAA. However, the Jackets know they have unfinished business for this season. One of the team goals is to have an undefeated District 13 AAA season.
As fans, let’s show our team that we will support them by having the best away game attendance of this year ! I believe this is going to be a great game and our team needs a large, very loud Ferris crowd showing our support and appreciation for their outstanding season this year.
Also, our Jackets team is now rated # 8 in the area ranked teams for Class 3A schools as published in the Dallas Morning News, Monday, Nov. 1. Senior running back Shaka Collins received Honorable Mention notice for his great game in the big win over Kaufman Friday, Oct. 29 in this same DMN issue.
We have a very talented football team made up of outstanding young men, all of which I would be proud to have living next door to me. What a great group that deserves every single award or every bit of publicity given to them as individuals or as a team. Their parents should be very proud of a job well done. I believe that Coach Randy Barnes and his staff of coaches have had a tremendous positive effect on these young men as well.
Come on Ferris Fans, let’s all convoy to Crandall Friday night and support our team!
Go Jackets, beat Crandall!
