FERRIS - The Ferris Yellow Jackets took over sole possession of first place in District 13-AAA with a dominating defeat of the North Forney Falcons Friday night at Citi Bank Stadium in Forney.

"We executed up front with our offensive line as good as any team I have ever coached. We physical[ly] whipped North Forney with our offensive line. It was a great night! Defensively, we were very sound, tackled very well. Except for three mistakes in our secondary, we were as good as we have been on defense," said Coach Randy Barnes.

High praise indeed from Coach Barnes, congrats to the Jackets!

The Jackets pretty much put the game away in the first quarter with a 21-0 lead.

Tailback Shaka Collins sco-red on a one yard run, quarterback Ryan Kidwill threw a seven yard touchdown pass to tightend Austen Tarno and fullback Adrian Garcia scored on a two yard run.

Kicker Gilberto Ojeda kicked the three punt attempts.

In the third quarter, Ojeda was good on a 30 yard field goal, wide receiver Nathan Feath-erston caught a 27 yard pass from quarterback Kidwill down the middle in the end zone, Ojeda good on the punt attempt and Ojeda was good again on a 34 yard field goal to give the Jackets a commanding 34-0 lead ending the third quarter.

In the fourth quarter, quarterback Kidwill scored on a one yd run and kicker Ojeda ended the Jackets scoring with the punt attempt.

The lead is 41-0 when a poor Jackets punt was line drived into a Falcons player, bounced into the Jackets end zone and recovered by the Falcons for a touchdown.

The two point attempt by North Forney was good to make the final score 41-8.

Defensive Coordinator Brandon Hankins and the Jackets defense deserve kudos for their effort Friday night.

Seemed linebackers Benny Martinez and Montana James were chasing and sacking the Falcons quarterback all night long.

Next Game: Friday, Oct. 29, against the Kaufman Lions. This is also "Senior Night." Senior members (and their parents) of the Jackets football team, the band and the cheerleaders will be introduced to our Jackets fans.

Please make every effort to be here at 6:15 p.m. to honor these Seniors.

It will be their last time to perform at Yellow Jacket Stadium, so be loud and be proud!
