Jackets bounce back with win, 47-29
FERRIS - The Yellow Jackets bounced back with a needed win over the Eustace Bulldogs 47-29 at Yellow Jacket Stadium Friday, Sept. 24.
The big story of the game was Robert Grady Jr., RB. He scored five touchdowns on runs of 75, 5, 65, 60 and 18 yards.
He carried the ball eight times for a rushing total of 281 yards.
This worked out to be an incredible 35 yards per carry. Robert was honored in the Dallas Morning News as the "Offensive Player Of The Week" for his special game.
It was good seeing different players shuffled in and out of the game Friday as it allowed some blow time for the players.
Different packages were employed by Coach Barnes that were better suited by the different players.
The Jackets defense had a good game Friday as well. Even though they gave up 27 points, they were strong when needed.
Special teams play was improved also.
It was the most complete game played this season by the three units, offense, defense and special teams.
The Jackets have an open date this Friday.
The week off could help heal some nagging injuries along with the normal bumps and bruises.
District 13 AAA play begins Friday, Oct. 8 at Kemp. Game time is 7:30 pm.
