RED OAK – Born April 26, 1927 in Wills Point, Texas to Johnny and Josephine Oakley, Dessie Oakley Wilson passed away Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010 in Red Oak at the age of 84 years with her children, grandchildren and great-gra-ndchildren at her side.

A divine Christian woman, she had a passion for helping others and especially loved children.

She was well loved by all.

She is survived by her beloved six children and their spouses including Ernest Wilson and wife Phyllis, Joe C. Wilson and wife Rosemary, Betty Skinner, Larry Wilson, Michael Wilson and Sandra and her husband Quinn Hartsell; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; sisters Bessie, Elizabeth, Joy, Paula and Patsy; and brothers Ernest and Joe.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Oscar J. Wilson; eldest son Johnny O. Wilson; her parents and her sister Teresa.

Visitation was held on Friday, Aug. 6, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. at Laurel Land Funeral Home.

Funeral services were held in the chapel of Laurel Land Funeral Home on Saturday, Aug. 7, 2010 at 2 p.m. with Larry Rolinson officiating.

Burial followed at Laurel Land Memorial Park.

Pallbearers included: Bubba Wilson, Chad Wilson, Billy White, Jason White, Michael Wilson and Mathew Wilson.
