Billy Ray Wickliffe

WILMER – Funeral services for Billy Ray Wickliffe were held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 14, 2010 in the First Baptist Church in Wilmer.

Born May 23, 1933 in Ferris, he passed away Thursday, June 10, 2010. He served the citizens of Wilmer from 1960-2005 as mayor for three separate terms, mayor pro-tem for numerous terms and city council member.

Preceded in death by son Stephen Ray and granddaughter Tanna; he is survived by his wife Dorothy Louise; sons and daughters-in-law Billy Joe and Angelina, Garry Wayne and Nancy and Paula Wickliffe; brothers Roy and Vernon; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Interment followed in the Red Oak Cemetery under the direction of Byrum Funeral Home in Lancaster.
