FERRIS - Carl G. Watson, Sr., 76 of Ferris, passed away Monday, May 24, 2010 in Red Oak.

Carl was born in Rockett on March 1, 1934, the son of the James Archie and Violet Chism Watson.

He was married to Betty Rackley Watson on July 24, 1953. He was a long time member of the Ferris Lions Club.

Carl was the founder of P.A.I.N. which stands for People Against Illegal Narcotics. He was the owner of Watson and Sons Construction Company.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge chapter #460 A.F. & A.M. and a past member of the Ferris School Board. Carl was also Pioneer of the Year 2010.

Carl is survived by his wife of 56 years Betty Rackley Watson; two sons Carl G. Watson, Jr. and daughter-in-law Cathy Watson of Palmer and Tony Watson of Ferris.

Carl is also survived by two sisters Mau-die Spurlock of Big Sa-ndy, Texas and Katie Ellison of Ennis; bro-ther, Jimmy B. Watson of Dallas.

He is also survived by four grandchildren Jason Watson of Waxahachie, Marcus Watson of Ferris, Christina Wallace of Bedford and Heather Watson of Palmer; and three great-grandchildren Brook, Harlie and Mya.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James Archie and Violet Chism Watson and his sister Ruby Burrow.

Visitation was held at 6 - 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at Green Funeral Home in Ferris. Funeral service was held 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at Green Funeral Home.

Interment will be held at Bells Chapel Cemetery in Rockett with a full Masonic graveside service.

Officiating Reverend Eddie Miner. Arrangements are under the direction of Green Funeral Home.
