FERRIS - Jimmy Don Allen, 67, of Ferris, went to be with the Lord Friday, March 26, 2010 in Ferris.

Jimmy was born in Fort Worth, Texas on Aug. 7, 1942, the son of the late Donald Allen and Oveda Chapman.

He was the owner of J.D. Allen Company and a member of The Oaks Church in Red Oak. He was a graduate of the class of 1960 at Ferris High School and graduated from North Texas State University in 1964. Jimmy married Marietta Burchfield on June 8, 1962.

Jimmy is survived by his wife of 48 years, Marietta Burchfield Allen; four daughters Melinda and son-in-law Mark Hope of Red Oak, Melissa Ann Wooley of Ferris, Donna Marie and son-in-law Paul Bellantone of Flower Mound and Kathy and son-in-law Lynn Mohundro of Ferris; four granddaughters Ashley Mohundro of Ferris, Samantha Bellantone of Flower Mound, Mariah Hope of Red Oak and Makayla Wooley of Ferris; three grandsons Ethan Mohundro of Ferris, Allen Wooley of Ferris and Benjamin Bellantone of Flower Mound; and one great-grandson Aidan Mohundro of Ferris.

He is preceded in death by his parents Donald Allen and Oveda Chapman.

Graveside services were held Sunday, March 28, 2010 at Ferris Memorial Park in Ferris with Pastor Ron Crane officiating.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Green Funeral Home in Ferris.
