WAXAHACHIE – Memorial services for James F. Slay, 79 of Waxahachie, are to be held in a private service for family at a later date.

Born Nov. 8, 1929 in Maypearl, the son of Frank James and Carrie Belle Slay, he passed away Saturday, June 27, 2009 at his home.

Preceded in death by his wife Margaret Slay; he is survived by his son Mike Slay and wife Denise of Arlington; sister Maxine Hobbs of Ennis; three grandchildren Connie Jean Purpura, Christopher Michael Slay and Emily Lafaye Slay; and two great-grandchildren Jonathon Shane Cooper and Michelle Nicole Cooper.

Arrangements were under the direction of Waxahachie Funeral Home.
