WAXAHACHIE – Funeral services for Eugene Winslow Yeater, were held at 12 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2, 2009 at Waxahachie Funeral Home.

Born May 24, 1927 in Oklahoma City, the son of Karl R. and Bonnie Lee Yeater, he passed away Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2009.

He was certified for 25 years as a baseball umpire with the Oklahoma Umpire Association and the Texas Umpire Association. He served six years in the U.S. Army in WWII and the Korean War.

Preceded in death by his parents Karl R. and Bonnie Lee Yeater and his wife Pearl Marie Yeater; he is survived by his daughters Jeannie Tillery and husband Jesse of Watauga and Nancy Little and husband Robert of Hendersonville, Tenn.; six grandchildren Byran Tillery, Sherri Tillery, Gale Wortham and husband Ronnie, Matthew Tillery, Jason Tillery and wife Holly and Bethany Little; and three great-grandchildren Bryan Tillery II, Garrett Wortham and Colson Tillery and was expecting the birth of a great-granddaughter in June.

Interment followed in the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery under the direction of Waxahachie Funeral Home.
