FERRIS - Funeral services for Betty Ann Huskerson, 75 of Newton, Kan., were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008 in Immanuel Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Ronan and Jeff Huskerson officiating.

Born Sept. 13, 1933 in Ferris, the daughter of Robert M. and Alta Mae (Phillips) Hurst, she passed away Monday, Dec. 15 at Newton Medical Center.

She was an avid KU basketball fan and was known to be quite a conversationalist.

She enjoyed working crossword puzzles and playing Scrabble.

Betty will be remembered most for her deep love and devotion to her children.

She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Newton and a participant of Compassionate Friends.

Preceded in death by her parents, daughter Dana Delane Huskerson, son-in-law Darrel Ratzlaff, brother Billy Hurst, sister Joyce Grounds and brother Kenneth Hurst; she is survived by daughter Karla and Wade Reichmann of Maize, Kan.; son Jeff and Melody Huskerson of Greeley, Colo.; daughter Lou Ratzlaff of Midlothian; sister Bobbie Mohundro of Bristol; brother Don Hurst of Greenville; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Compassionate Friends or Immanuel Baptist Church in care of Petersen Funeral Home, 215 N. Main, Newton, KS 67114.
