WAXAHACHIE - Funeral services for Houston Bowren, of Waxahachie, were held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 10, 2008 in Waxahachie Funeral Home with Pastor Edwin Lipsey and Rev. L.W. Dollar officiating.

Born July 1, 1933 in Cordell, Okla., the son of Henry and Ina Bowren, he passed away Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008.

He came to Waxahachie when he was six-years-old with his family and parents.

Preceded in death by his first wife Jeane Bowren of 49 years; his parents; one brother and three sisters; he is survived by his wife Lois Cornelius Bowren of Waxahachie; daughters Jamaica Breedlove (Diana Crouch) of Freeville, N.Y., Pamla (Mark) Brosh of Murchison, Texas and Crisi Vinson of Fort Worth; grandchildren Kara Breedlove and fiancé Michael Tilton, Emily Breedlove, Lance Moore, Ashli Amos and husband Morgan, Shelbi Brosh, Cameron Brosh, Caleb Vinson and Destini Williams and husband Drew; great-grandchildren Alex Moore and Alex Amos; three sons by marriage Martin (Karen) Beggs of Sarasota, Fla., Norman (Terry) Beggs of Amarillo, Steve (Christina) Beggs of Fredricksburg, Va. and grandchildren Tanner, Alexander, Elizabeth Lois, Christopher, Samuel and Ava Louise. Brother Onus Browen of Waxahachie.

Interment followed in the Sardis Cemetery under the direction of Waxahachie Funeral Home.
