Feb. 24, 1953 - Sept. 18, 2008
WAXAHACHIE - Cathy "Cat" Marie (Turner) Kennedy, the mIRC MommaCat, 55 of Waxahachie ended her 41 day hospital battle with Pancreatic and Liver cancer on Sept. 18, 2008 at Baylor University Medical Center Dallas. Her family had attended her that day and her sister asked her if she saw Jesus to which she responded yes. Her daughter was with her at the time she passed and says "She fought hard to be sure we were ready and when she knew we were, she went peacefully to her family in Heaven."
Cat advocated for Libertarian politics and ran for Treasurer of Ellis county on the Libertarian ticket in May of this year. She fought for the rights of her children and all children to live free and happy lives without condemnation over past mistakes. She was a loving woman who made friends quickly and easily whether they ever met face to face or not. She loved internet chat rooms and had a large internet ‘family’ that mourn her loss alongside the rest of her family.
Cat’s passion was writing, she co-authored a play with her friend Sharolyn Dawn and was independently working on novels and cookbooks. She penned numerous poems and short stories which her children hope to make into an anthology some day. She was a quick witted lady who enjoyed knitting, reading, DJing and singing on Karaoke nights and internet chat rooms. She has friends and family around the world. They were all loved by her.
