WAXAHACHIE - Memorial services for Jack Clemmons, 88 of Waxahachie, were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2008 in the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home with Dr. Joe Langley officiating.

Born Dec. 11, 1919 in Mineral Wells, the son of Eugene Clemmons Sr. and Mary Louise Clemmons, he passed away Thursday, July 24, 2008 peacefully at home.

He was a graduate of Sunset High School and Southern Methodist University.

He was a long time member of Oak Cliff Presbyterian Church, Oak Cliff Masonic Lodge and Oak Cliff Chamber of Commerce. 

He served in the South Pacific Theatre in World War II.

He married Helen Faye Ray on June 25, 1945.

His career was spent working at Sears on Jefferson Street in Dallas and Westcliff Mall in Oak Cliff and retiring as the store manager in Waxahachie.

Preceded in death by his parents and brother William V. (Bill) Clemmons; he is survived by his wife of 63 years Helen Clemmons of Waxahachie; two sons Mark and his wife Dolly of Waxahachie and Charles Clemmons of Dallas; four grandchildren Kyle Clemmons of Mansfield, Jon Clemmons and his wife Andrea of Midlothian, Kelly Roye of Waxahachie and Stephen Clemmons and his wife Nichole of Waxahachie; two great-grandchildren his "little buddy" Chance Roye of Waxahachie and Lorelei Clemmons of Waxahachie. 

Arrangements were under the direction of the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home in Waxahachie.
