ITALY - Funeral services for Charles "Chili" Riddle, 79 of Italy, were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2008, in the First Baptist Church of Italy with Pastor Ronny Dabney officiating.

Born July 30, 1928 in Fort Worth, the son of Clarence and Glennie (Crutcher) Riddle, he passed away Sunday, May 4, 2008 at his home in Italy.

He graduated from Italy High School in 1945 and married Dorothy Latham on Sept. 11, 1948 in Waxahachie.

He has been a member of the First Baptist Church of Italy for 62 years.

He served in the Korean War with the Signal Service Detachment 8195th Army Unit and received the Korean Service medal with two Bronze Stars, Unit Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Merit Unit Citation, National Defense Service Medal and a Good Conduct Medal.

Preceded in death by his daughter Sherri Lynn Riddle; his parents; and three brothers Raymond Riddle, Winston Riddle and C.A. Riddle Jr.; he is survived by his wife Dorothy Riddle of Italy; daughter Becky Milligan and her husband Keith of Italy; two grandchildren Rachael and Joshua Milligan; nephew Alvin Riddle and his wife Elaine; three nieces Jean Brazeal, Jill Buchholz and her husband Steve and Micki Allen and her husband Ricky; great nephews Clint Riddle and his wife Brenda and Curtis Riddle and his wife Michele; and great-niece Carrie Damron and her husband Cody.

Interment followed in the Italy Cemetery under the direction of Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home in Waxahachie.
