FERRIS - Wayne Douglas Cowey 67, of Ferris, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013 at Baylor Hospital, Rogers Building in Dallas. 

Wayne was born in Beeville Texas on July 9, 1946 to Inez Hall Cowey and the late John Douglas Cowey. 

Wayne is survived by his wife Patsy Cowey of Ferris;  daughter Sharon Cowey of Nashville, Tenn. He is also survived by step-son’s John and David Hardt of Dallas; step-daughter Sarah Hardt Stadtman of Plano. Wayne is survived by step-granddaughter Faith Hardt and husband Brandon and great grandchild Abigail of Denver, Colo . He also left behind two other step-grandchildren, Shawn Hardt and Hope Hardt Stadtman of Plano.

Wayne is also survived by many cousins, classmates from Pettus High School and many friends. Wayne also leaves behind his co-workers at Landmark Protective Service, where he served as a Security Officer.

Wayne was a strong believer in serving the Lord and the Military.He served in Viet Nam in the Army and later in the Navy. He was a long-time Mensa Member. He was a member and believed in supporting Ferris Crime Watch. He was a member of the Lone Star Cowboy Church in Red Oak.

Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Lone Star Cowboy Church 1011 East Ovilla Road, Red Oak, with Senior Pastor Jon Coe officiating.
