FERRIS - Marian Jeanette “Janie” Hamm of Ferris, was born Jan. 8, 1934 in Dallas and passed away peacefully after several years of poor health, Monday, Sept. 19, 2011, at Baylor Hospital in Waxahachie.

She married Herman C. Hamm on June 3, 1949 and together they farmed the land raising predominately cotton and corn, and their biggest joy was raising their 4 children.

Hamm is survived by her 4 children: Karen Maxwell and husband Ron of Waxahachie, Linda C. Frazier of Red Oak, Debbie Dlabaj and husband Larry of Bardwell and Kevin Hamm and wife Teresa of Ferris, 8 grandchildren; David Maxwell, Jennifer Ortega, Russell Frazier, Micha Campo, Brandi Dlabaj, Lisa Dlabaj, Niki Jackson, Scarlett Hamm, 14 great-grandchildren, and one brother, C.W. Miller, Sr. of Rockett.

She was preceded in death by her spouse of 49 years, Herman, her parents Charles Wesley and Myrtle Miller, also, her son-in-law, Stephen R. Frazier, sister, Alene Ward, brothers; Jerry Miller, Thomas Miller and John Miller.

Visitation was Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wayne Boze Funeral Home, 1826 W. Hwy. 287 Bus., Waxahachie, TX 75165, 972-923-2700.

Celebration of Life was Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011, officiated by nephew, Rev. Steve Hamm at 2 p.m. in First Baptist Church of Ferris, 304 W. 5th St., Ferris, TX 75125, 972-842-3374.

Pallbearers were her grandsons David Maxwell and Russell Frazier and great-grandsons; Jordan Valdez, Joshua Valdez, Jonathan Valdez, Hayden Dodson and honorary pallbearers; Jaiden Jackson and Stephen Frazier and Dyllon Dlabaj.
