Robert Calvin Bell

PALMER - Robert Calvin Bell, 84 of Dallas, went to be with his Lord, Thursday, June 16, 2011 while surrounded by his loving family. Robert was born in Palmer, to the late Clarence Calvin and Lula Emma Almond Bell on Sept. 15, 1926.
Robert served in the US Army as a Pvt in WW II. Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Campaign ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Army Occupation Ribbon (Japan) Victory Ribbon and 2 Overseas Service Bars. Robert and Carrie married on Aug. 12, 1948.
Robert owned and operated Bell Automotive for many years. Robert was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, son and friend.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Carrie Juanita Renfro Bell; daughters Marnita Jo and husband Martin Guinn of San Angelo and Laura Ann and husband John Couey of Dallas; daughter-in-law Lola Bell of Red Oak.
He is also survived by brothers Luther and wife Ruth Almond Bell of Lufkin and Harold Lynn Bell of Bristol; sister Mary Edna Fagen of Ferris, Jimmy Bell of Tyler, Betty J. and husband Vernon Wickliffe of Hutchins, Billie Cloyce and husband James Bloyd of Napels, Texas, Nan and husband David Clark of Ferris, Texas, Paul David Bell of Ennis. Robert is also survived by five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one on the way, many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents and his son Robert Glynn Bell.
Visitation was held Monday, June 20, 2011 at Green Funeral Home 207 S. Wood Street Ferris, Texas from 6 - 8 p.m. Funeral service was held at Jefferson Blvd Church of Christ 2442 Jefferson Blvd. Oak Cliff, Texas at 9 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2011, with Brother Robert Guinn and Brother Wes Price officiating.
Interment to follow at DFW National Cemetery at 11:15 a.m. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Green Funeral Home.
