FERRIS – Memorial services for Joseph Glenn Short, 70, were held Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011 at Lone Star Cowboy Church in Red Oak with Joe Coe officiating.

Born May 10, 1940 in Wilson, N.C., the son of Joseph Henry and Louise Baker Short, he passed away Monday, Dec. 27, 2010.

He was a resident of Ferris for the last 21 years and a member of the Lone Star Cowboy Church of Ellis County.

Preceded in death by his parents and sister Jean Peaden; he is survived by his wife Martha Short; daughter Tammy Short Sasser and her husband Jimmy Sasser of Wilson, N.C.; sister Carolyn Barnes of N.C.; brother Wayne Short of N.C.; stepdaughter Tammy L. Cox and her husband Wesley Cox; stepson Todd Farris; grandson Hunter Farris; and Mindy and Miranda Goodner.

Honorary pallbearers were Todd Farris, Hunter Farris, Wayne Short, Bob L’Heureux, Mike Franklin, Bill Garton and Wesley Cox.
