Emmit Richard Wickliffe

FERRIS - Emmit Richard Wickliffe, 74 of Ferris, passed away Sunday, Oct. 17, 2010 in Dallas.

Emmit was born in Ferris, on March 30, 1936 to Jessie Marion Viola Mae Parks Wickliffe.

He was maintenance supervisor for Southern Methodist University Dallas. Emmit was married to Annetta Vessels Wickliffe on May 1, 1964.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Annetta Wickliffe of Ferris; daughters, Brenda and son-in-law Ray Smith of Kaufman and Nita and son-in-law Samuel Garcia of Ferris; son, Eric Wickliffe of Ferris; sister, Maureen Mathews of Ennis; brothers, Amy O’D-ell Wickliffe of Rockwall and Marion Wickliffe of Balch Springs.

He is also survived by six grandchildren: Samuel Garcia, Jr., Patrick Garcia, Briana Garcia all of Ferris, Curtis Smith and wife Denise of Dallas, Ray Smith, Jr. and April Hughes of Kaufman; three great-grandchildren, Dallas Hughes, Shane Hughes and Colton Hughes all of Kaufman.

Preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Curtis Theodore Wickliffe and Johnny Wickliffe; and sisters Pauletta Conway and Peggy Griffith.

Visitation was held from 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2010 at Green Funeral Home in Ferris. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010 at Green Funeral Home with Rev. Donnie Jordan officiating. Interment followed at Ferris Memorial Park North. Arrangements are under the direction of Green Funeral Home.
