RED OAK - Linda B. Strickland McCrory, 59 of Red Oak, passed away at her residence on Monday, Sept. 13, 2010.
Mrs. McCrory was born in Greenwood, Mississippi on January 17, 1951 to James and Fleda Strickland.
Linda was a very devoted and loving wife, mother, gr-andmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and a friend to many. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ferris. Linda was a librarian for the city of Wilmer.
Linda is survived by her husband of 40 years, Kenneth McCr-ory; their two sons Kenneth McCr-ory Jr. and wife Patricia of Kauf-man, Tully Russell McCrory and wife Marci of Ponca City, Okla.; her mother Fleda Strickland of Greenwood, Miss.
She is also survived by one sister Georgianna and husband Ronnie Smith of Tutwiler, Miss.; three brothers Donnie and wife Brenda Strickland of Mobile, Ala., James Strickland of Greenwood, Miss. and Jimmie and wife Barbara Strickland of Grenada, Miss.
Linda is also survived by four grandchildren Ashley McCrory Smith and husband Brian of Bristol, Kenneth Lorenzo McCrory of Bristol, Terri Jo McCrory of Red Oak and Cole Raymond of Kaufman; two great-grandchildren Ayden and Blaze McCrory Smith of Bristol, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her father James Strickland.
Visitation was held from 6 - 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010 at Green Funeral Home in Ferris. Additional visitation was held from 5 - 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 17, 2010 at Wilson & & Knight Funeral Home in Greenwood, Miss. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010 at Wilson & & Knight Funeral Home with Brother San Sing officiating. Funeral arrangements in Texas were under the directions of Green Funeral Home. Interment followed at Mt. Pighka Cemetery.
