Hundreds of Ellis County 4-H and FFA youth have been readying their animal, shop and creative arts projects for the 2012 Ellis County Youth Expo. This year’s event takes place April 3-7 at the Ellis County Youth Expo Grounds at 2300 W 2287 Bypass in Waxahachie.

Activities get kicked off officially on Tuesday, April 3 with the opening ceremonies at 6 p.m. followed by the rabbit and broiler shows.

Wednesday, April 4 will see championship swine in the main arena.

Thursday, April 5 is reserved for the sheep, goat, and shop shows, cattle take center stage on Friday, April 6.

The week events culminate with the Buyers BBQ and the Sale of Champions placing animals on Saturday, April 7 beginning at 11 a.m.

The public is invited out to see these 4-H and FFA members with their projects and this is a prime opportunity to support these youth in their agricultural endeavors by participating in the Saturday auction.

To learn more about the educational programs in 4-H and FFA and to get more specific information about this year’s show, contact the Texas AgriLife Extension Service at 972-825-5175.
