ENNIS – The Southern Pacific Sunbeam Club, a group of retired railroaders, their families, friends and train lovers who meet on the first Tuesday of each month, has decided to make some changes.

Beginning in September, they will act as trainmen who are on the road and having their meals in local restaurants.

On Tuesday, Sept. 7, the Sunbeam Club will blow the whistle at 11:30 a.m. at the Ennis Family Restaurant.

This restaurant is located at 2709 S. Kaufman St. in Ennis and is known for the home style cooking.

This will be a day of food, fun and fellowship in celebration of Labor Day.

Bring a friend, railroad memories to share and let’s have a fun day.
