MAAG to begin 20th year
Submitted by Darleene Denbow
ENNIS – It’s MAAG time again and officers have met to make plans for the MAAG to begin their 20th year of activity.
A MAAG is a member of the Methodist Active Adult Group which was organized in 1991 under the leadership of Stan and Jeanette Houdek as a senior group of the First United Methodist Church of Ennis.
Active Adult means these are fun loving people who like to stay busy helping other adults and themselves to stay young at heart.
Membership to the MAAG has always been open to anyone who has proudly reached the age of at least 50.
These fun loving friends enjoy short trips, delightful entertainment, assorted games and especially good food.
Anyone fitting in these categories would make a great MAAG.
The first meeting for the MAAG year of 2010-11 will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Ennis.
A Circle of Love will form in Memorial Hall at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 8.
Charles Newman will entertain the MAAG with his musical talent as the executive committee hosts the day.
Make your plans now to enjoy this day with the MAAG.
Invite a friend or two, bring a veggie, salad, or dessert and be ready for an exciting day.
A meat, bread and drinks will be furnished by the executive committee.
