LANCASTER– Arb Rylant, airport manager for the city of Lancaster has announced the newly extended 6,500 foot runway is finished and opened for business at the Lancaster Regional Airport.
The extended runway is part of the 2006 LNC Master Plan, while the newly revised Master Plan is under technical revue at the Texas Department Of Tra-nsportation Aviation and the Federal Aviation Administration Airports Regional office.
In other LNC news, Rylant is getting ready for retirement and has officially announced he found a replacement.
"Mark Divita currently works for Rockwell Collins on military contracts and live in Dallas," said Rylant.
Divita, a graduate of Texas A&M, is scheduled to report to LNC as early as mid-August.
"As I checked all of his references, one notable one stood out that made a strong impression upon me….the NCOIC who served under Mark in Iraq and is now a police officer in Fort Worth, provided the best compliments to him as ‘the best OIC ever’ and ‘an inspirational leader who takes care of his troops’," said Rylant.
