Sing and dance at the library

Lancaster Lancaster Veterans Memorial Library is full speed ahead on the Summer Reading Express.

Dance, Fly and Slide on the Locotrans Express with Debbie Day Thursday, July 1 at 2 p.m.

This musical, fun-filled event is for children in second through sixth grades.

Teen Games Night will also be held Thursday, July 1 from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Everyone age 11 and older is welcome to enjoy checkers, dominoes, Pokemon, Scrabble and other games.

Parents are welcome to join the fun!

Pajama time stories are every Monday at 7 p.m.

All are welcome to enjoy stories and songs.

Family Story Hour is every Saturday at 2 p.m. participants will enjoy stories, songs and a take-home craft project.

Youth age 2 through 16 are encouraged to sign up to read or listen to books, and win prizes.

The grand prize for the preschool through first grade group is a camera.

The top reader in the second-sixth grade group will also win a camera.

The five volume set of Rick Riordan’s "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" will be the grand prize for the teen who logs the most reading time.

Summer programs continue through July 29.

These events are free and open to the public.

The library is located at 1600 Veterans Memorial Parkway, in the Lancaster Community Park.
