Hawkins Street railroad crossing to close for repairs

WAXAHACHIE - The Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad will be closing the Hawkins Street railroad crossing near Richards Park and the city cemetery for repairs on Friday, June 18, beginning at 6 a.m. and re-opening at noon.

During the closure, access to the city cemetery and Richards Park will be closed to vehicle traffic.  

A spokesperson from Burlington Northern Santa Fe indicated due to the nature of the maintenance and repairs taking place, full closure of this rail crossing during this six- hour period is necessary.
