WAXAHACHIE - Ruth Sutton has been with Waxahachie Independent School District for 40 years. Sutton, who began her career with the district in 1970, started out as the district’s typing teacher. Over the years she has served in a number of capacities including assistant principal at Waxahachie Junior High, principal at Turner Middle School and now principal at the recently opened Oliver E. Clift Middle School.

Sutton’s work ethic and commitment to excellence is truly remarkable and her loyalty to this district is to be commended.

Her famous "Hey Love!" saying is one that will go down in the history books of Waxahachie ISD.
