DeSoto ISD free summer student meal program
DESOTO — Cockrell Hill Elementary and East Middle School will be the district sites for the Summer Food Program providing FREE meals for children 18 and under from June 7 to Aug. 6 – breakfast will be served from 7-8 a.m. and lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. only.
The Texas Health and Human Services Commissioner’s Summer Food Program is offered statewide to all children, regardless of income.
Program sponsors serve meals with milk, meat, fruits, vegetables and bread.
All meals and snacks meet federal nutrition standards.
Just as learning does not end when school lets out, neither does a child’s need for good nutrition.
The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) provides free, nutritious meals and snacks to help children in low-income areas get the nutrition they need to learn, play and grow, throu-ghout the summer months when they are out of school.
