Waxahachie High School Class of 2010 joins group of seniors for first annual Senior/Senior Prom
WAXAHACHIE - Members of the Waxahachie High School Class of 2010 joined another group of "seniors" at the first annual "Senior-Senior Prom" held at the Waxahachie Senior Citizens Center.
The event was held Tuesday, April 27 at the Waxahachie Sen-ior Center.
Throughout the week, members of the WHS senior class have been participating in the first annual "Seniors Helping Seniors" week.
The "Senior-Senior Prom," just one of several activities included in the "Seniors Helping Seniors" week, hosted more than 100 members of the Waxa-hachie Senior Center, and more than 40 members of the WHS senior class of 2010.
The prom served as an inter-generational activity for both groups.
"The event was a great success and we look forward to having it again next year. Both groups of seniors had a great time, and so did the volunteers," said community relations manager Amy Hollywood.
Also included as a part of the festivities were free prom photos for all guests, an hors d’oeuvres buffet and live band.
"We were able to add some very nice touches to the prom because of the generosity of our sponsors. Baylor Medical Center, Infinite Care Home Health, Country Lane Senior Living and Appe’ Teaser Catering all helped to make the event possible," said Hollywood.
