Dan Davis announces for GOP County Chairman
WAXAHACHIE - Dan Davis announced his candidacy for County Chairman at the Republican Party meeting Nov. 24.
He hopes to bring a new enthusiasm to the party in preparation for the 2010 elections.
Davis is one of the local Tea Party organizers, a retired Lieutenant Colonel from the Army Reserve and a former Midlothian volunteer fire fighter.
"I bring Leadership and Organizational skills, and I hope to work with the Republican Party, to help it reclaim its base," said Davis.
He believes the people of Ellis County deserve a Republican Party that is as energized and motivated as those who came to the Tea Parties this last summer.
The GOP party chair is responsible for conducting executive committee meetings, appointing executive committee officers and is the public figure for the GOP locally and at the state level.
"Right now there is a lack of faith in the Republican Party among conservative voters.
"I believe this because our elected leaders have lost their way on lower taxes, limited government and an ever-encroaching federal presence in our lives," said Davis.
Davis lives in Waxahachie with his wife Jody.
He has two children and three grandchildren.
