Rotary start Coats for Kids program
CEDAR HILL – There are children in Cedar Hill, who do not, and will not, have a clean, warm coat for this winter. A local service club wants to see that change before the December 18 holiday break.
The Rotary Club of Cedar Hill is announcing it’s pilot "Coats for Kids" program, hoping to improve this situation. In addition to the donations of new coats, hats and gloves from Rotarians, the program is going community wide with drop-off boxes at several locations.
From now until Dec. 15, boxes will be placed in Cedar Hill at Citizens National Bank at 106 West FM 1382, Dry Clean Super Center at 517 E. Beltline, and Expressions Chiropractic and Rehab at 510 W. FM 1382.
In this holiday season of giving, citizens are encouraged to drop off a new child’s coat (Boys and Girls sizes 6 – 16); matching hats and gloves are greatly appreciated as well.
The Rotary Club is also accepting donations, cash or check, to purchase new coats at $15 each. All new coats will be distributed to in-need children in Cedar Hill elementary schools.
Need will be determined by the school counselor working with the teaching staff.
Monetary donations may be mailed to the Cedar Hill Rotary Foundation, P.O. Box 1006, Cedar Hill, TX 75106.
The foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and all donations are tax deductible, as allowed by the IRS.
Please join the Rotary Club of Cedar Hill, Citizens National Bank, Dry Clean Super Center of Cedar Hill and Expressions Chiropractic in making a difference in our community and assuring that the children of Cedar Hill have a warm holiday season.
"We are reaching out to help the children in our community," said Rotarian Pat Bonds, one of the Rotarian organizers of the project.
"We hope this becomes an annual community project, not just a Rotary project, so that coats will be provided to every child that needs one!"
