DeSoto High School Band earns UIL Superior rating

DESOTO — The DeSoto High School Eagle Marching Band received Superior ratings from all judges on Saturday, Oct. 17 at the Region 20 UIL Competition in Duncanville. 

This marks the 42^nd consecutive year the Eagle Marching Band has reached this outstanding achievement.    DeSoto High School competed, along with 15 other area bands, in the Region 20 5A Marching Competition and many returned on Oct. 31 for the Duncanville Invitational Contest.

This is a non-state year for 5A thus schools will only earn Regional ratings.

There will not be area or state competitions.

The 130 member Eagle Marching Band performed their 2009 marching show The Master Remastered: Music of Ludwig Van Beethoven. The show repeated Friday, Oct. 23 during halftime of the Homecoming football game.
