Walmart/Lancaster Duffers Derby Golf Tournament winners announced
Lancaster – The Walmart/Lancaster Duffers Derby Golf Tournament was smiled on by the great god of golf as 40 days and 40 nights of rain stopped for one beautiful afternoon on Monday, Oct. 12, so the golf tournament could be played at Country View Golf Club.
Chick-fil-A brought a tasty lunch and Outback Steakhouse cooked those delicious steaks outside, sending a tempting aroma all over the golf course, which was in surprisingly good condition despite the elements.
Thirty-five businesses put together teams, so that including volunteers, over 170 business people ate, played, networked and developed new relationships.
The Lancaster Cham-ber’s motto is "Lancaster Means Business" and on that day that goal was exceeded.
The Duffers Derby Golf Committee headed by co-chairs Chuck Luke (AMREP) and A.Z. Drones (ATMOS Energy) with help from past chair Bob Borden Hardscrabble Antiques) thanked all the sponsors and volunteers who made this day a success.
