Ferris ISD new student registration available

FERRIS – Parents, there is still time to register your child in Ferris Independent School District for the 2009-10 school year.

While week one of registration has passed, another week is available to register your new student. The following is the registration schedule for Aug. 17-20 according to your child’s last name:

· "A-G" Monday, Aug. 17 from 10:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

· "H-M" register Tuesday, Aug. 18 from 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

· "N-R" Wednesday, Aug. 19 from 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

· "S-Z" Thursday, Aug. 20 from 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

All students new to the district must first register through centralized registration before enrolling at the campus. Once student information is obtained at the PEIMS office, parents and students will be directed to the campus for enrollment.

In order to register your child, several documents must be obtained before registration can be completed. Be sure to bring a driver’s license or a photo i.d. with the current physical address, documentation of the child’s date of birth, child’s social security card, immunization records, proof of address (utility bill, lease or rental agreement or deed of trust), the last school attended information (report card, transcripts or name and address of previous school withdrawal date). Also for Pre-Kindergarten students, proof of income must be shown by bringing in a current paycheck stub.

Registration takes place in the PEIMS office, 303 East 5^th St.

The first day of school begins Aug. 24.
