MIDLOTHIAN – The Midlothian Chamber of Commerce has announced registration has begun for the Christelle Moser Memorial 5K Race to be held in conjunction with the Annual Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 10.

The run/walk will begin at 8 a.m. at the MISD Multi-Purpose Stadium on 14th Street,

immediately prior to the opening of the Fall Festival.

Registration opens at 7 a.m. Registration forms can be obtained at ww.midlothianchamber.org or by calling the Chamber at 972-723-8600 or emailing info@midlothianchamber.org.

This is the fourth year this race has been held in Midlothian, and is being run this year in memory of Christelle Moser.

Christelle joined the community of Midlothian in 2005, winning the hearts of many with her enthusiasm, energy and spirit.

Many vividly remember her past participation in the 5K, as she quickly finished the race, and then repeatedly went back to encourage her running mates.

She ran the final stretch with each member of her team to help them finish the run.

"We mourned the unexpected loss of Christelle in 2008. The community remembers her zeal for life and her ability to inspire and encourage others." Awards will be given to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place male and female in several age categories: 11 to 13, 14 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 44, 45 to 49, 50 to 54, 55 to 59, 60 to 64, 65 to 69, and 70 and over.

The awards ceremony will follow the race at approximately 10:30 a.m. at the Fall Festival.

Registration for the event is $20 prior to Oct. 9 and $30 on race day.

Goody bags and t-shirts will be given to every participant, on a first-come, first-available basis to the first 250 registrants. All

participants under the age of 10 will receive a ribbon.

Sponsorships are still available, and will join sponsors Holcim, Midlothian Energy Limited Partnership and Citizens National Bank of Texas.
