Mayor of Ovilla files for JP

Ovilla – Bill Van-syckle, elected mayor of Ovilla this May, officially filed to run for Justice of the Peace Precinct 4 last Friday, July 10.
Precinct 4, covers Red Oak, Ovilla and Midlothian.
Currently, Linda Sibley, elected in 2002, is fulfilling her second term and isn’t sure if she is making this her last.
State law will allow Van-syckle to serve both as mayor and JP since the Ovilla title is a volunteer job position.
Vansyckle , so far the only announced candidate for the seat, will run in the March 2, 2010 Republican primaries.
