Local receives highest ranking

Ovilla – Brooks Kyle Kennedy, 18, recently attained the highest rank from Troop 524 as an Eagle Scout.
Brooks, from Red Oak, led a restoration project for a portion of the cemetery at Ovilla United Methodist Church where he used his skill and know how to clear up the surrounding area or fallen limbs, trash and debris so he could conduct some basic landscaping.
The son of Steve and Kelly Kennedy, Brooks currently is a college freshman at Navarro College in Waxahachie with an eventually focus on obtaining a degree in Veterinary Medicine from Texas A&M.
