Michael Howard entertains the MAAG
The Methodist Active Adult Group known as the MAAG gathered in Memorial Hall of First United Methodist Church in Ennis on Wednesday, April 9 for lunch, fellowship and a special program.
A circle of love was formed at 11:30 a.m. and Hazel Laza led the group in prayer.
Hosting this gathering was Merle Spence, Roxanne Curry and Hazel Laza.
Michael Howard, pastor of the Cowboy Church of Ennis, was a special guest today.
After his introduction, he presented a wonderful program in story and song.
One of the highlights to his program was the story and song of an old Methodist church that still stands today not far from where it stood many years ago.
It is now used to store hay for God’s creatures.
The words and music of this song, "The Old Hay Barn," were written by Mr. Bill Kelsey, a member of Mr. Howard’s church.
The spirits of people in the Oak Grove area were once fed in this church and today the animals of God’s world are fed with the hay that is stored within its walls.
The MAAG closed the 2007-08 year on Wednesday, May 14 with a tour of The Ennis Regional Medical Center and lunch in the cafeteria.
Everyone was asked to meet on the small parking lot at the back of the First United Methodist Church at 9:45 a.m. for the trip to the hospital.
