Knit and Crochet Group
The Knit and Crochet Group meeting every Tuesday, from 9:30 until 11 a.m. at the Fellowship Hall in the First United Methodist Church, located at 101 Redbud in Ferris. Whether you are an experienced knitter or crocheter or just wanting to learn, everyone is welcome to join. There is an active Prayer Shawl Ministry and you can share patterns, advice and fellowship. 2008 Ellis County Relay for Life benefits The American Cancer Society
The 2008 Ellis County Relay for Life began selling raffle tickets March 4.
The drawing will take place at the Ellis County Relay at the Maypearl High School. Raffle tickets are $5 each or five tickets for $20. Many prizes can be won, including dinner for two at Kozy Kitchen, two tickets to a Stars hockey game, $300 gas card, Acer laptop and much more. The ceremonies for the Ellis County Relay will kick off at 7 p.m. Fun, food and activities will be for all to enjoy.

Methodist Health System holds mobile mammography
Methodist Health System’s mobile mammography van will offer mammograms at Methodist Midlothian Imaging Center. Women age 35 and older with no breast implants or current breast problems are encouraged to be screened. Methodist accepts most major insurance plans, including Medicare Part B and Medicaid.
Without insurance, the mammogram costs $111.65. Payment is due at the time of service and payable by cash, check, Visa or MasterCard. Appointments are required. To schedule an appointment, call 972-775-7410. Methodist Midlothian Imaging Center is located at 2210 Bryan Place.

Business Plan
A session on Creating a Business Plan will be held from 10 a.m. to noon in the Prosperity Bank Conference Room at 500 N. I.H. 35 in Red oak. This month’s teen movie at Sims Library stars Nicolas Cage, Diane Kruger, Ed Harris and Helen Mirren. Treasure hunter Benjamin Franklin Gates is back and looking to discover the truth behind the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. Enjoy popcorn and a movie with your friends.

Sims Library holds special dog show
Junior teens, ages 11-12, will learn how police K9s are trained from 4 to 5 p.m. at Sims Library. Rob Boudreau of Micmac Teaching for Dogs will demonstrate techniques used to train Police K9s.
