Engagement announcement: Kaelin-Smith to wed

WAXAHACHIE - John Kaelin and Cynthia Lowrey and Karla and Doug Gibson all of Waxahachie, are proud to announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Catie Kaelin of Dallas, to Adam Smith of Dallas, son of Roy Smith of Rockwall and Pam and Blair Savage of Red Oak. 

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Patricia Bond of Waxahachie and Ray and Bonnie Kaelin of Louisville, KY. 

She is a 2004 graduate of Waxahachie High School and a 2007 graduate of Texas State University with a bachelor’s degree in exercise and sports science. She is currently attending UTA to complete a bachelor’s of science in nursing degree. Catie is employed as a rehabilitation aide at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Buddy and Barbara Batson of Red Oak, Texas.

He is a 2004 graduate of Red Oak High School and is pursuing a criminal justice certificate from Dallas County Community College. He is employed as a utilities contractor for Future Telecom.

The couple plans to be married at 6 p.m. May 5, 2012 at Old Bison Ranch in Forreston.
